Leadership Training

The training of pastors is an important work of PIM. Eric Schering spends most of his time conducting various classes for pastors and teachers and writing resource materials for pastors. Eric was also involved with the one week Teacher’s in-service course that was held for the PIM teachers who have since left to serve in their assigned villages. Eric also serves as consultant for the Sunday school ministry.

Experienced nationals also conduct courses for pastors, for teaching and administration, Sunday schools, community guidance, as well as specialized areas such as health and marriage issues.

Eric Schering has written several books for teachers, pastors, and other leaders in Papua New Guinea.

Leadership for Melanesia

Leadership principles are discussed using the book of Nehemiah and the leadership principles of Jesus as examples. Eric shows those who are leaders in PNG, whether in the government or in church or in business, what God says about the kind of leadership that needs to be provided.

Ten Hot Topics

This study tackles ten of PNG's most pressing social issues such as land disputes and land ownership, HIV/AIDS, training and disciplining children and wife beating. Eric evaluates the issues from a thoughtful Biblical point of view and shows how the Word of God can be used to speak directly to our social issues of concern today.
